Cause and Effect

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ As shown in the line graph above, my fifth solves for both events were my worst 3x3 solve of all time at 49.35 seconds, and my best 2x2 solve at my first competition of 6.9 seconds. Likewise, my 13th solve for 2x2 was my best 2x2 solve of all time, and the 13th 3x3 solve was my worst solve at that particular competition. Same with the 55th solves being my best 3x3 solve of all time, and my worst 2x2 solve of that event. All of these are examples of correlation not meaning causation, as there is no logical reason for this behavior outside of it being coincidental.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ However, there is valid correlation between other values in the data. Notably, the drop in times between the 10th and 11th solves, as well as the 33rd and 34th solves, which directly coincide with the time gaps mentioned near the beginning of the report.
